Another year has flown by, and despite the uncertainty that last year brought, we have once again persevered. I believe that we can all attest to the resiliency and adaptable nature of our city by looking around and seeing that we have overcome much of the uncertainty that surrounded us last year.

As you may have heard in the news, many cities, including Atlantis, came to assist the City of Lantana in lobbying for maintaining the Lantana Post Office (off of Ocean and Dixie) operational. This post office location serves our zip code designation and is a vital part of our history, but was slated to close because it was “not as profitable as others.” Well, a collection of multiple City Officials, staff, students, and area residents, understanding the value of that location, came together to express dissatisfaction with the decision, and Washington heard us. Congratulations! It will remain open to continue serving us.

Our Annual Holiday Golf Cart Parade will be held December 14th and we are looking forward to seeing the decorative creativity with which many of our homes and golf carts will be adorned. This year we are adding a twist to the season by conducting a Food Drive to assist the many people not as fortunate as we are to have plentiful food to eat.

Because of this, we are going to have containers ready to receive any food or toys you can donate during the Golf Cart Parade. Additionally, you do not have to wait until then to make your donation. If you currently have food and toys to donate, please bring it by City Hall and the staff will make sure it is promptly delivered to those in need. We truly appreciate your generosity.

The residents have spoken, and we now have the official name to be given to our recently completed west park. Since its inauguration during our City’s fall festival, we have been tallying the votes and we are finally proud to announce that “Sunset Park” is now the official name. Many thanks to all of you who participated in the process.

It is truly a great honor and pleasure to be part of such a great city and I would like to extend the warmest and merriest of holiday seasons to all of you.

May God continue to bless you and your family.
Serving Proudly,
Randy Perry
